This website streams 18 UK freeview channels live (give or take a few seconds delay). Its free and legal. All you have to do is sign up (nothing more than username and password) and them log in... you have TV.
I dont actually know why being able to watch live TV on your computer for free is a good thing... but it probably is. If youre too lazy to get up and change the tv over. If you dont have a tv in your room. If youd rather switch between windows than have to move your head back and forth from one screen to the other. We all know what a pain that can be.
